Rev. Dr. Walter C. Coles, Sr., USMC (Ret), age 84, of Jacksonville, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2023.
Public viewing 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Saunders Funeral Home, 210 Bell Fork Rd., Jacksonville, NC 28540.
A celebration of Rev. Dr. Coles’ life will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 13, 2023, at Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, 1106 Cedar St., New Bern, NC 28560.
Interment will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
His love and memories will remain in the heart of his wife, Mother Virginia Coles of the home; children, Brenda Davis (Windel) of Nebraska, Robin Coles of Jacksonville, Walter Coles, Jr. of Greensboro, and James Coles (Pamela) of Clarksville, TN; sister, Daisy Gravley of Roanoke, VA, 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
